Course

This is an event for Test Driven Development with React. The focus will be on developing React components with a test-first approach. In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of unit and feature testing with the library Jasmine while building React components. A basic knowledge of React is recommended.

Workshop Description

Test Driven Development (TDD) with React is an introduction to TDD workshop using the Jasmine testing library. In this workshop, we'll take participants who are new to TDD or looking to improve their skill through the technique. Participants will be grouped based on TDD experience so that we can better engage and teach different material. The tracks range from testing simple text being rendered from a React component onto a page to using mock and spies for external calls. This workshop is intended to reach out to women, transgender and non-binary people, and people of color.

Transportation and Parking

The XO Group Inc. office is located near the Fulton St. MTA station, Chambers St. MTA station, WTC PATH station, and the World Financial Center ferry station. There is some street parking near the area but finding it can be difficult. Taking public transportation is recommended.

Food and Drinks

Dinner will be provided Friday night. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday.
